Canberra Central is a city church with many of the hallmarks of a regional congregation bringing together people with a wide variety of professional experience from across the national capital. The Parish is looking for a minister to join the collegiate ministry team with Rev. David Thiem and other staff and deliver a focus on preaching the gospel, leading worship, encouraging and supporting congregational members in their Christian lives in church and community and nurturing connections with the Wesley Music Centre.

The World Council of Churches (WCC)10th Assembly is to be held in Busan Korea, in October- November this year. A delegation of 12 Korean church and government leaders will be visiting Canberra in July, as part of a program of visiting all previous World Council of Churches Assembly venues to celebrate their contribution to the worldwide ecumenical movement.
An Ecumenical Service on Thursday 11th July at 5pm at Wesley Uniting Church, National Circuit, Forrest, ACT is being held to welcome the members of the Korean delegation and to celebrate Canberra’s part in ecumenical history.

Wesley Uniting Church, National Circuit, Forrest will be celebrating the AIM/Frontier Services centenary with a joint celebratory service with St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on the 21st October, a fund-raising breakfast for Frontier Services on the 27th October and with guest preacher, Rev Jorge Rebolledo, the flying patrol minister based out of Broken Hill, at both services Sunday 28th October.
Applications are invited for two new pipe organ scholarships for school students which are being offered by the Wesley Music Foundation (WMF). These ACT Organ School scholarships, to be known as the Gwyneth Bunning memorial scholarships, will be available initially for the financial year 2011-12.
The WMF is seeking applications from students who have reached at least AMEB Grade 4 or 5 in piano performance and have an interest in and aptitude for learning the pipe organ.
