THE MORNING GATHERING WITH BOB DOUGLAS
Dr John Wiliams and his wife Ruth will be working in the Braidwood church in August and September 2012. John is a highly credentialed scientist, and a lay preacher. He is a “country lad”, having grown up in the High Country, and understands the life of towns and farming. His passion and life’s work as a scientist has been understanding the use of water in the Australian landscape. Ruth’s empathy is soon understood by all who meet her. She is looking forward to visiting many folk in the Braidwood area.
Everyone is invited to share in the celebration of the 150 years anniversary of the Braidwood Uniting Church on Sunday 30 October at Braidwood. Further details will be advised closer to the event.
Romney Victor Smith is a kindergarten pupil at the Braidwood Central School and is the son of parents with no church affiliations. A few weeks ago, he came home from school and, much to his mother’s surprise announced that he wanted to be baptised. On questioning Romney, his mother discovered that this desire came directly from school Scripture classes. All RE teachers should take heart from this.
