Last year the former ‘Black Stump Festival’, which ran for many years in Sydney, changed format and relocated to Greenhills Centre, Cotter Road Canberra. This year join Tim Costello, Megan Washington, Gillian Triggs and Lior and #UnleashJustice.
Partnership in Prayer via the weekly notices focusses this week on “A Place at the Table”, the National Presbytery Ministers’ Gathering being held in Canberra from 21st to 24th September hosted by the NSW/ACT Synod. President of the UCA Assembly, Stuart McMillan, will be there as well as NSW/ACT Synod Moderator, Rev Myung-Hwa Park. A wide cross-section of Presbyteries will be represented including the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC).
Rich Harwood is founder and president of The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, a national not for profit organisation based in Bethesda, Md. The institute teaches and coaches people and organisations to solve pressing problems and change how communities work together.
We all want to engage our communities and do more to help people but it’s hard. Why will anyone work with me to create change and where how would I take the first step?
This conference focuses on the need for each of us to be ‘turned outward’ to the community and the importance of starting wherever you are with whoever you have around you.
