About the 40th anniversary Logo and stories requested by NSW/ACT Synod …

In 1977, three Australian churches came together as one. The Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational churches have been the Uniting Church in Australia ever since.

The 40th anniversary logo can be viewed as a starburst, fireworks or a dandelion head whose seeds are spread on the wind. The image brings to mind celebration, diversity and all the varied parts of the Uniting Church.

The colours intentionally connect to those that remind us of our covenant with First Peoples, the red earth and ochre.

The tagline, “All of this is us”, encompasses past, present and future – all that brought us together and formed us as we began, all that has shaped us has involved us over the past 40 years, and all that we hope for as we look to the future.

Stories, reflections requested

To help celebrate 40 years, NSW/ACT Synod want to hear from you.

If you have stories or reflections about historical moments in the Uniting Church, send them through to at contactus@nswact.uca.org.au

Stories submitted may be selected to be featured in the June-July issue of Insights.

Please keep your stories to around 300-500 words and include an engaging photo of the event or special service, if you are able to.

If you plan to send us your personal reflections, we require submissions by Friday 5 May. Events held after this date will be published on our Facebook page.

We look forward to reading all your submissions.
