Canberra Region Presbytery Office
Transitional Operations Manager
Rev Kevin Dilks, Presbytery Minister – Presbytery Wellbeing, writes:
It is my pleasure to introduce Janise Wood who began working with the Canberra Region Presbytery Office as the Transitional Operations Manager commencing 26th September through to March 2018.
The Transitional Operations Manager (T.O.M) will be working with the Presbytery Staff to put in place operations, systems and practices that will enable the Presbytery to better manage its business and then move to the employment of a permanent Operations Manager. The permanent Operations Manager will then be responsible to assist Presbytery, staff committees and live out the Presbytery Vision Statement by providing support, guidance and leadership in areas of business management including financial, human resources, property and all areas of compliance.
Janise has come to us from Uniting as a six-month secondment. She has spent the last seven years working with Uniting Ageing in Independent Living, with responsibility for Independent Living finances, Communication and Marketing, Sales, Budgets of individual Villages across ACT and NSW, invoicing, commissioning of new buildings, Property and Maintenance of villages and contract/Retirement Living Legislation compliance.
More recently Janise has moved her family from Wollongong to Canberra to lead the Independent Living team in establishing a new service, the Amala Retirement Village in Gordon ACT. As the Village is now complete Janise was looking for a change of direction and new challenges.
On a more personal note Janise has a little cottage in lovely Bredbo NSW and has been married for 17 years. Janise is an avid painter, craft enthusiast and has a special interest in the writings of Jane Austin and Elizabeth Gaskell.
Janise will spend the next few weeks finding her feet and once available her email and phone number will be circulated for your information.
I know you will make her feel welcome.
We are appreciative of Uniting whose three-year grant has enabled us to bring Janise on board with no distress to our budget.
