Ecumenical Service for Parliament 2017

On Tuesday 7th February 2017 at St Christopher’s Cathedral, Forrest there will be an Ecumenical Service to commemorate the commencement of the Australian Parliament for 2017. The event will commence at 7.30am and conclude at approximately 8.15am.

The Parliamentary Christian Fellowship has issued an invitation to all Churches reminding us that this service is an opportunity to remember our privileges and responsibilities before God and to ask for His blessing on our nation. As with previous services, it is anticipated that lessons will be read by the Governor General, the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition. The Sermon will be delivered by the Rev David Campbell, Senior Minister of the Presbyterian Church of St Andrew, Forrest.

There will be limited parking available from 7am to 8.30am in the grounds of the Catholic Education Office (Opposite the Cathedral, 52-54 Franklin St). Parking can also be accessed from the public parking available in the Manuka area.

Please rsvp by email sarah.jarvis@aph.gov.au or to Sarah on (08) 8205 1040 to confirm your attendance.

  1. Would you please send me a list of the Bible Readings/Lesson references if they are available at the Ecumenical Prayer Service as I only heard a small section on the TV news.
