Blessing our neighbours

Mission shaped ministry

Catch the vision Tuesday 16 Oct 7.30pm Gungahlin Uniting Church,
108 The Valley Avenue, Gungahlin.

Mums’ groups, men’s sheds, bible studies, craft opportunities, op shops, schools, workplace chaplaincy … what could you do? What’s on God’s heart for the people of Canberra? How can we do mission in our neighbourhood?

Join us for an evening of prayer, sharing and learning about fresh expressions of church so that our neighbours might be blessed and a missional network be developed together. To register for this non-denominational evening, contact Wayne Brighton at wayne.brighton at anglicancg.org.au or on 0407 408 333 by Friday 12 October 2012.

Sponsored by Fresh Expressions Australia and supported by the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn and the Uniting Church in Australia Presbytery of Canberra.

More about the term “Fresh expressions”

‘Fresh expressions of church’ is a term coined in the UK by the Church of England report Mission-shaped Church and used in the Church of England and the Methodist Church for the last five years. In October 2007, the Anglican Church in Australia’s Task Force on Mission was rebranded as Fresh Expressions Australia.

Fresh Expressions Australia has produced a 12 page booklet, Encouraging Fresh Expressions of Church available from MediaCom for $2.75.  Designed in an open and accessible format, this booklet should get discussion going as your parish finds the road to doing church a little differently. It is broadly based on resources developed by the English Fresh Expressions team.
